Who are they?

Palladium works with governments, businesses, and investors to solve the world’s most pressing challenges. The Australia Pacific Climate Partnership (Climate Partnership) is supporting the Australian Government to integrate climate and disaster resilience in Australia’s aid program in the Pacific and Timor-Leste. The Climate Partnership provides technical advice, expertise, and resources to program managers and implementing partners on climate change, disaster risk reduction, and gender, disability, and social inclusion. It also partners with scientific agencies, regional programs, and local organisations to fill critical knowledge gaps and broker climate and disaster information, ensuring it is accessible and useful to those who need it.

What we did

Red k played a pivotal role in the creation of the Resilient Infrastructure Good Practice Guide (RIG) for the Climate Partnership, focusing on design and complex illustration. This guide encapsulates overarching principles and actionable steps for developing infrastructure that is resilient to climate and disaster risks throughout its lifecycle. Emphasising inclusive design and stakeholder engagement, the guide aims to build not only infrastructure resilience but also broader community resilience. Furthermore, where feasible, it supports the enhanced capacity of individuals, industry, and governments. Red k’s significant experience working in the Pacific region, combined with expertise in design and illustration ensured that the RIG is visually engaging, informative, and accessible, contributing significantly to the promotion of resilient infrastructure practices in the face of climate and disaster challenges. Red k’s ability to communicate complex ideas through simple illustrations made the guide more user-friendly and impactful, especially for Pacific audiences, for whom specific communication strategies were employed.
