Hulk smoothie; the importance of a good brand

Nutritious vegetable smoothie; doesn’t sound palatable does it? When it was suggested to me to give my son a green vegetable smoothie to boost his energy, I remember thinking to myself – How in the world am I going to get him to drink that?! I knew I’d have to to think of a much better name than “green smoothie” to win him over.

So how do you re-package green sludge for a 7 year old? – The hulk smoothie is born

  • Know your market

(Most) 7 year old boys love superheroes, science and all things extreme. Use your knowledge of your demographic, turn the green vegetable goop into something your child would want to try regardless of what it looks like.

What 7 yr old wouldn’t love to drink the smoothie of a scientist turned superhero in a failed gamma radiation explosion?

  • Don’t try and make it something it’s not

At the end of the day it’s green and nasty looking, try to tell your child any different and you’re going to lose them. Audiences, particularly children, are a lot more discerning than we give them credit for, they’ll see right through “false advertising!”. Turn the weaknesses into unique selling advantages.

The HULK is nasty looking and green – just like that the negatives turn to positives!

  • Communicate your message

The goal of the green smoothie is to boost your child with nutrients to improve vitality, make sure your name communicates that message clearly.

The hulk is known for his super strength (and uncontrollable anger)*

*Hulk smoothie has no known side effects, if you experience anger symptoms, stop consuming immediately!

Hulk Smoothie Recipe!

INGREDIENTS: Spinach, Kale, Ginger, Rockmelon/HoneyDew, Kiwi Fruit, Avacado/Banana, few goji berries, sprinkle in some chai seeds, apple juice, water

QUICK TIP FOR TIME POOR PARENTS: I juice a large bunch of Kale, Spinach, and some ginger in a juicer first. Then freeze the liquid in ice cube trays.  I blend 2 ice cube mixtures into the smoothie per serving.
